GUNDERSON TESTIFIES IN FIRST TRIAL VIA ZOOM – $1.9 BILLION VERDICT
Lance Gunderson, Echelon’s intellectual property practice leader, provided expert testimony on damages on behalf of Centripetal Networks Inc. in its patent suit against Cisco Systems Inc. in the nation’s first trial conduct exclusively via Zoom. On October 5, Judge Henry Coke Morgan, Jr. issued his judgment finding that Cisco infringed four of the five asserted patents and that those patents were not invalid. Judge Morgan awarded Centripetal $755.8 million in damages, which he applied a 2.5 multiple due to Cisco’s “egregious” willful infringement.
